Sugarbush

Located along the Mad River Valley is the very snowboard friendly resort of Sugarbush, a mountain resort that is not bad and well worth a visit if you are in the area. Sugarbush is split  over six connected mountain areas, all of which offer different features for different abilities. A short distance from Sugarbush is a resort called Mad River Glen, however, don’t bother with this arse hole of a place because seven years ago they banned snowboarders due to a dispute with the management. Still, today there’s no such problem here at Sugarbush, which has been operating as a resort since 1958. Today Sugarbush is a modern and well equipped resort with state of the art snowmaking facilities that reach almost 70% of the slopes. Mind you the resort has a respectable real annual snow fall of some 716 cm per season, making artifical snow not always so important.  The six ridable areas are split up as, Castlerock Peak, which is home to some major expert terrain, Cadd Peak, which is the location for the Mountain Range Snow Park and good intermediate runs, Lincoln Peak, which has a splattering of good carving trails and some trees, Mount Ellen, which is the highest in the resort, North Lynx Peak home to a lot of novice terrain and finally Slide Brook Basin. You can ride all the areas on one lift pass and all are connected by the array of chair and drag lifts.
