Sugar Bowl /
Freeriders will be pleased with Sugar’s nice offering of trees, back bowls and morning powder trails. The black runs on Mt Disney will sort out the wimps from the men, with some very challenging trails especially the area off the Silver Belt chair lift where you will find a steep cliff section. Sugar Bowl Resort has short challenging bowls, numerous ridge lines that access plenty of tree runs, glades, and even some chutes.
Freestylers are more than welcome here and have full access to all three areas. From the top of the Mt.Judah lift you can access three main parls. They are littered with tables, quarters, kickers and numerous rails and boxes for the jibbers. The Nob Hill Park is great for beginners and has a few rollers and boxes. There used to a half pipe, but as of January 2016 there didnt seem to one remaining.
Although somewhat on the small side (1,500 skiable acres) compared to some of the nearby resort, this small resort packs in over a hundred trails across its four peaks with plenty of terrain variety. Beginners have 17% of the trails, whilst intermediates have 45% of the piste. Advanced riders have 38% of the trails with a mix of single and double black diamond runs. The expert terrain includes some challenging tree skiing
Beginners will find that the best laid out easy terrain is available on Mt Judah, which has a particularly good easy section for novices to shine on. The section of the Christmas tree chair is also noted for being a good easy area.
