Introduction
Snowbird is unquestionably the choice mountain for intermediate and expert snowboarders. It has the most vertical terrain of any Utah resort and a pretty decent halfpipe. Skiers tend to out-number riders on this mountain, but the attitude is not competitive.
Over the years, this is a resort that has become well known for its steep terrain and fantastic powder, trees, bowls and gullies along with some okay novice terrain. In all honesty, this place is for riders who can ride, because nearly half of the mountain is rated as advanced. If you like going balls out down serious steeps then Snowbird is your heaven, but be warned, if you fail to respect any of the slopes, you may go home in a body bag.
