Durango Resort Vista / Durango Mountain
Durango Mountain Resort was formerly known has Purgatory and changed its name when it was taken over in 2000. Its a fantastic place and one that doesn’t come with all the razzamatazz and ponciness that many of Colorado’s other resorts have. What’s more, this place is not an over priced hunt designed for Dot.Com millionaires, this is a place where riders who like to ride hard and then relax with ease, can do so at resort that is friendly and extremely well set out. This can be said for both on and off the mountain and down town in Durango, which is 25 miles away.
Although Durango is under new management, there has been a ski centre here for the past 36 years, and the future looks good for this place with a number of major developments taking place up on the slopes and down in the base village of Purgatory. On the slopes you have a surprisingly well laid out selection of runs that provide something for everyone with a good choice of advanced and excellent intermediate slopes.
