Diamond Peak

Of all the resorts in Tahoe, Diamond Peak doesn’t quite mix it with the likes of Squaw and Heavenly but that’s not necessarily a bad thing; as the weekends swell the other resorts, Diamond Peak promise amazing views, no crowds and good value. Built after Squaw hosted the Winter Olympics in 1960, and extended to its current size in the 80’s. Diamond Peak is a resort that places a strong emphasis on fun, families and snow, and they succeed in many ways as this is a cool hang-out that attracts all ages with the slopes getting a good annual snow covering. The slopes are set out in a simple manner with a good mixture of runs spread out over the whole mountain. Being a quiet resort, the trails don’t get busy and there aren’t long lift lines. but most of the lifts are painfully slow, but does give you plenty of opportunity to sample the amazing views of Tahoe.
