Brighton is generally talked of as the snowboarding capital of Utah, but that is over-rated. Brighton is located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon and most of the mountain is lacking in vertical and challenging terrain. The pipe sucks and the regulars here are not a friendly crowd.
There are some really good riders but they don’t appreciate visitors crowding the snowboard parks and they will always be the first to let you know it. However, Brighton has been welcoming pleasure seekers to its slopes since 1936 and is fully open to snowboarders. Brighton is also close to the snowboard friendly resort of Solitude.
