On a powder day, Aspen snowmass is the pick of all the Aspen resorts with some excellent steep tree riding.

The base village has dozens of lodging options, with beds within easy reach of the bottom runs. Evenings are not up to much, but there is a lot more going on in nearby Aspen. For a drink, check out the Copper Street Pier, or Eric's for a game of pool. Be aware that Aspen is super $$$ dollar-hungry.
