Snowmass is the biggest of the resorts that make up the Aspen area, and the second largest resort in Colorado. With its four seperate peaks, Snowmass is an impressive resort with a lot going for it and warmly welcomes snowboarders. The 1,246 metres of vertical available here is the highest in the USA, and means you don't have to go anywhere else if you're looking for plenty of good steep terrain.
Snowmass is mainly an advanced/intermediate rider's retreat, with a good choice of double black diamond runs and trails through trees, steeps and awesome powder making this a place where everyone can get a fix.
A lot of investment has gone on over the last decade and this once sleepy part of Aspen, now has the obligatory mega-base complex bringing in crowds of visitors and hiking the prices up.
