Great freeriding and natural freestyle resort with a good annual snow record. Limited slopeside facilities, but excellent services within easy reach.

Off the slopes. Alpine Meadows, doesn’t have any real slope side services. However, it's just a 5 or 10 minute ride away from Squaw Valley (by free shuttle!) where a number of facilities, restaurants and bars can be found.
Furthermore, just about anything you need can be found in nearby Tahoe City. Tahoe City has a surplus of accommodation, eating out and sporting facilities. There are loads of shops, including loads of souvenir outlets so beloved by tourists and skiers. With the Tahoe area being so popular, it is quite possible that you could be hanging out, on or off the slopes, with some of the biggest names in snowboarding as a number of pros live in the area.
Much like most the facilities, things are limited at Alpine Meadows. That said, a very big and pleasant restaurant is open all day long at the foot of the resort. If you're looking for an evening meal, then you'll need to head to Squaw Valley (5-10 mins away), or drive into Truckee or Tahoe City which is also where most the area's nightlife and accommodation happens to be on offer too.
Accommodation can be found in Squaw Valley (close but expensive), Truckee (20 mins) or your best bet; Tahoe City, that's only 6 miles away. Also, although a bit of a trek but you can often get great deals in Reno also known as the “mini Vegas”.
There is no nightlife at Alpine Meadows. That said, if you're staying in Tahoe City, a pretty social nightlife can be found. Check out SiPS, Pete N Peters or Tahoe Mountain Brewing for some hard earned beers.
