One of Switzerland’s lesser known resorts, Scuol lies nestled between the Silvretta peaks and the Engadin Dolomites and is known for its long sunny days. The official language of Scuol is Romansh and situated further West than most other Swiss resorts, riders will get a distinct feeling of been off the beaten track and away from the normal package holiday crowds . The resort offers a number of wide open pistes that provide a variety of challenges for all levels of riders. It is situated about 3 hours train ride from Zurich airport on the same train line that serves the ski areas of Davos and Klosters.
The village itself boasts a mixture of traditional architecture and modern buildings, with a traditional Swiss church overlooking the centre. Visitors will quickly notice the town’s reputation as a spa town, evidence of this includes the spa drinking fountains around the resort and the Bogn Engadin health and bathing centre, which offers an ideal chance for relaxation after a hard day on the slopes.
Both the main lift up the mountain and a number of hire shops are adjacent to the railway station. Once you step off the lift the terrain opens up onto a variety of wide pistes that makes for excellent riding for all levels.
Those looking for a challenge will enjoy the 12km run down to Sent and there is plenty of potential for off-piste riding not far from the main lifts. Park riders will love the long terrain park down the main lift station, which is well constructed and maintained, with an abundance of features.
