Freeriders have plenty of great terrain to explore, with tree runs down to the village, or extreme terrain with bowls and cliffs which you can reach by dropping in to your right on the Berneuse. You should also check out the official off-piste runs that give you the feeling of backcountry riding, for example try the route behind Tour D' Ai, starting at the top of Chaux de Mont.

Freestylers will be able to spin huge airs in the ISF pro tour pipe, which is normally maintained, but don't be shy to ask for a shovel at the nearby lift hut. As well as the pipe, the fun park (located between Berneuse and Mayen) has quarter pipes and gaps to ride. Mind you, it's not usually built until the end of February.

Carvers with only hard boots and alpine boards are the ones who are going to be disappointed. There is some good carving to be had, but overall, this is a soft boot resort. The Berneuse is a good place to lay out some big turns. Beginners can get going at the nursery slopes which have easy to use rope tows, before venturing up to slopes on the Berneuse. The drag lift at the Chaux de Mont will be difficult for first timer and beginners should not use this lift, even for the lower section, as the exit point is on a very steep piece of terrain.
