Arosa is a great place to wonder round on foot with plenty of opportunities to take great photos, the resort also has a selection of bars and cafes to rest those weary feet. For those needing a lift around the resort there is an excellent ski bus facility that runs at regular intervals.

If you still are up for a challenge after a day on the slopes you can hire a sledge and race down the popular run from Prätschli to the village, this is illuminated after dark and is even more fun plus a free bus brings you right back to the start through the day and costs 3 CHF at night.

If you come to Arosa in December you can look forward to some laughs at the Arosa Humor Festival that has grown in statur over recent years. Early March also sees the resort host the Arosa internationl gay ski week. The resort hosts regular events such as the Audi Ski and Snowboard cross.

Food options
Food options in Arosa are quite varied with options to suit most tastes. Those looking for something quite traditional to the area should try dinner at the Burestübli Arlenwald where you can try different kinds of typical Grison specialities. The restaurant has a nice laid back atmosphere but can get very busy so make sure you book to avoid disappointment.

If you fancy a rest and something filling to eat on the slopes then there has to be no better choice than the massive Big-A-burger at SIT-Hütte – made with local products these are simply delicious and very filling. They do smaller ones for those with a lesser appetite but it would be a shame to not try one of these whilst on the slopes.

If you are down in town and want something special to snack on head to one of the local cafe where you can find a bountiful collection of cakes, pastries and freshly baked breads, plus lot of fine chocolate treats.

Those taking the self catering route will be please to know Arosa has at least two well stocked supermarkets including a COOP so you should be able to find everything you need without too much hassle.
Accommodation
There are plenty of accommodation option in Arosa to suit all budgets and tastes. However if you are after a bit of luxury on your trip then they don’t come much more impressive than the Waldhotel. The hotel has everything you could want including it’s own rental shop, restaurant, and a high quality spa for resting those tired legs.

Throw in grand rooms with spectacular views of the Swiss Alps and an amazing breakfast with food made to order and you won’t go far wrong.

For those looking for a cosy hotel with a family feel the the Hotel Streiff is a good option. Situated ten minutes walk above the Arosa village the hotel ovelooks an old church with a mountain backdrop, add in modern spa facilities, children’s games room, buffet breakfast and a cosy bar and restaurant and most people will be more than happy here. Regular shuttle services run from the hotel to the lift station and ski buses can be accessed from the main road which is a 5 minute stroll away.

Those looking for a budget options and more of a party atmosphere should head to the Basic Hotel in Arosa. With free wifi, breakfast buffet, saunas and regular live music this might be the perfect place for those wanting late nights as well as long day s on the slopes. Coupled with some good room and lift pass deals this is an excellent choice for those wanting in an all in one deal.
Nightlife
Arosa is not a full on party town by any means however it stills has some lively apres’ The Overtime bar on the main street just round the corner from the train station gets nice and lively with live bands and barmaids serving in cow girl uniforms.

For something more chilled out when leaving the slopes there is a small umbrella bar behind the station which closes at 8pm. For those looking for something a bit more special the Bellini bar in Arosa offers a large selection of wines and tapas food.
