Anzere 1 /
Anzere is one of the most chilled out resort it Switzerland. It was custom built back to the sixties and some of the bud the builders were smoking must have hung around in the air. While many of the surrounding resorts can boast more alpine charm and bigger piste areas, Anzere has more than enough to offer on a week’s holiday. A modest 25 miles of piste may put people off but what it really means is that there’s a lot of off piste to be had, especially when you think Anzere receives an annual snow record of over 800 centimetres. The other great thing is that it’s not as expensive as neighbouring resorts, which helps attract families and we all know that mum and dad aren’t having the off piste and leaving little Fabien to fend for himself, which means it doesn’t get tracked out as quickly as elsewhere. The slopes are mainly south facing and get a lot of sun. This allows for plenty of tanning as you ride the slopes or sip a beer at a mountain bar. Overall Anzere is a fun, happy-go-lucky place that will appeal to the laid back snowboarder and while a party can be had it’s more of a resort to board hard all day and then kick back and have a good meal and a few beers with friends or family.
