Kant

Kant (also called "Moscow Alps" by the management) is located within an industrial estate to the south of Moscow, 20 minutes from Red Square, this is Moscow's most accessible hill. From the metro it's only a five minute walk. Run by a local sportswear retail chain Kant, quite popular among snowboarders who like to practice their freestyle skills here on a half-finished halfpipe and a few hits that are available. One of the most bizarre hills ridden, it has 270 degree views of drab old apartment blocks. It started life as a dump and is classed as an artificial hill. The disused dump was filled with earth, had grass planted on it, and to increase its gradient and length, rubbish was transported from surrounding building sites. This can cause problems with your base when there is limited snow coverage so to counteract this, management often sprinkle sawdust over the thin areas. The runs are about 200 meters long, and there are 6 drag lifts available. If you have more time, perhaps Sorochany or Volen (located about 2 hours from Moscow), which have longer runs and better quality slopes are a better choice.
