Open from September until June, and a great choice for an early or snow sure shred. Good open flat runs, but can get crowded at weekends.

Stubai Glacier is the biggest resort under the Innsbruck area. It's also the only Innsbruck resort that has summer snowboarding. A common factor in the summer months are the hoards of day-tripping US students, with no idea what they are doing or where they are. Stubai is a great mountain to try and offers the chance to ride fast on wide, open runs that are well groomed and serviced by a set of efficient, modern lifts.
The only drawbacks are that, being a high glacier resort, it can be stupidly cold in the winter where the temperature can make it almost impossible to ride, and theres very little tree cover. The other problem is that because Stubai nearly always guarantees snow when lower areas are short on the stuff, the masses head here, making the place very busy, especially at weekends. Munich is only two and a half hours away and so the place also gets a regular German overload. Access to the slopes involves a twenty minute cable car ride, but once up, you're presented with a great selection of runs. Theres 2 rental places at the top of the eisgrat and gamsgarten gondolas, they promise a 20 minute board service while you take a beer.
