Surf Operator Launches Snowboard Sidekick
Global surf travel and adventure brand Ticket to Ride launches its snowboard offering for winter 15/16. Joining its ever-increasing portfolio of exciting worldwide surf adventures and instructor courses.
Ticket to Ride has introduced a selection of snowboard experiences & courses spanning performance, freeride, freestyle and instructor. Perfectly complimenting the successful surf side of the company, the new snowboard offering ranges from week-long camps through to eleven-week qualification-led courses.
Ticket to Ride’s transition into snowboarding follows the success of its surf adventures and its well-established sister company Basecamp, who have been qualifying ski and snowboard instructors since 2002. Wanting to align its boardsport offering, Ticket to Ride brought their love of both sports together to better cater for sideways sliders looking for first rate coaching and adventures abroad.
Ticket To Ride Snowboard Instructors
Operating in a selection of the world’s finest resorts, Ticket to Ride can be found in France, Canada and New Zealand. Taking snowboarders from the freestyle mecca of the Espace Killy to the spectacular powder promised land of Banff National Park, winters are never ending with Ticket to Ride’s southern hemisphere based snowboard experiences on the active peaks of Mt Ruapehu. Paving the way to a career in the snow, snowboard instructor courses are the perfect choice for gap year students, career breakers or those looking to improve their technique and maximise riding potential. Qualifying under the watchful eye of an experienced team of instructors, Ticket to Ride courses open the door to a life in the mountains. Spending a season amongst the glistening white peaks doesn’t have to involve the classroom as Ticket to Ride offers a ten week freeride experience that develops performance both on and off piste without the stress of exams. Time conscious riders can take advantage of the shorter snowboard courses available, from three-week all mountain performance courses through to week-long park camps for freestyle junkies.
Company Director Will Hayler commented, “We are really excited to finally announce the launch of Ticket to Ride’s snowboard arm. Having a love for both sports and understanding the boardsport ethic shared by both surfers and snowboarders, I wanted to bring the two sports together as one. Since our launch back in 2005 we have enjoyed developing our surf adventures and offering unique experiences in a host of different countries. As a team, we are very much looking forward to Ticket to Ride’s next step and the forthcoming winter in the snow.”
Pioneering the ‘surfing gap year’ to South Africa back in 2005, Ticket to Ride is currently celebrating its tenth year in operation. Showcasing surf adventures and instructor courses in South Africa, Mozambique, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Portugal and Morocco, Ticket to Ride prides itself on its highly qualified team of coaches and expert guides.
