After Sochi 2014 captured the imagination of the UK public last winter, 30 Days of Snowsport aims to continue the buzz around snowsports by delivering 30 days of skiing and snowboarding activities both at slopes in England and online via competitions and social media promotions between September and November 2014.  

The 30 Days of Snowsport events running at indoor centres and artificial slopes across the country will include fun days of snow activities and entertainment, days featuring GB skiers and snowboarders, elite level competitions and freestyle nights.

At many 30 Days of Snowsport events, there will be the chance for people who have never tried skiing or snowboarding before to give it a go with a GO SKI GO BOARD ‘TRY’ taster session. For those who already ski or snowboard, there will be a chance to get the ski legs back or have a go at something different – whether that be attempting to jump, having a go at racing or being inspired by athletes.

Online during 30 Days of Snowsport, there will be the chance to watch snowsports videos and edits from Sochi heroes, as well as special offers from Snowsport England partners and competitions to win skiing and snowboarding prizes. Tim Fawke, Chief Executive of Snowsport England said of the new initiative: “After the success of the ‘Slide2Sochi’ roadshow last year, we wanted to continue to engage people at local slopes with fun, welcoming days which would attract people into finding out what snowsports is all about. We also know that many people use the internet to find out about how to get involved in new sports, which is why we are also looking to engage people online as well as at local slopes with our new 30 Days of Snowsport initiative. We really hope it will get people excited about snowsports and kick start the season!”
