British Indoor Slopestyle Championships arrive!
The British Indoor Snowboard & Freeski Championships returns to Chill Factore in Manchester on Saturday 10th October 2015.
Team GB athletes including Jamie Trinder, Matt McCormick, Madi Rowlands and others are expected to be among the top-emerging freestyle talent from all across the UK challenging for British Championship titles and medals. Equally, the British Championships has always prided itself on its open and inclusive entry, welcoming riders that are looking for their first competitive experience.
Every rider started somewhere, including Winter Olympian Murray Buchan who reflected on his years at The BRITS, ‘The Indoor Champs is where riders like myself, Woodsy, Jamie (Nicholls) and most of Team GB gained vital early experience and collectively pushed one another’s ability and expectations. Becoming British Champion at age 16 still ranks up there as one of my proudest achievements.’
This year the Slopestyle course will feature over 12 obstacles that focus on big transfer and combination lines, with course plans being released in the weeks leading up to the event. The Championship will continue with its relaxed Jam Session format for the entire competitive field which will maximise rider time and decide the overall British titles. As the youth and kid categories are generally less likely to challenge for the overall title they will also compete in a traditional 2 run final following the Jam Session.
