Art on Snow 2013 – A slightly different art fest!
From the 2nd to 8th of February 2013 the Gasteinertal in Austria transforms into a huge art atelier.
For one week, young artists from the fields of painting, drawing and photography present their works and create art live on site.

The Gastein’s guests may be looking forward to one week full of thrilling action, exhibitions,
workshops and parties. No withdrawn vernissage only for invitedguests, no Champagner-smalltalk-party,
but a cosy festival focussing young, contemporary art, where everyone is warmly welcome.

After a successful kick-off event in 2012, the Gasteinertal will be hosting
the ARt on Snow for the second time in February 2013.
The villages BadGastein, Bad Hofgastein and Dorfgastein with their long time art history
and the corresponding architecture provide the perfect locations for the
winter-art-festival.

The basis of the ARt on Snow is the art exhibition in the art nouveau
rooms of the former Hotel L’Europe in Bad Gastein, where the artists’
collections can be marvelled at during the whole week of the event. On
the first weekend, all exhibiting artists will personally be on site to
interchange with each other, to create art and to explain the individual
intentions for their artworks to the public.
But also in the whole valley art will be ubiquitous: During the week of the
Art on Snow ice- and snow-sculptures will be created in the Gastein
villages, streets transform into gigantic 3D-artworks and mountain railway
cars into moving canvasses. Several, professionally led workshops invite
the visitors to participate and at different parties, night will be turned into
day.
Furthermore the Gastein’s guests may be looking forward to a bunch of
top-class surprises, which the organisers do not want to reveal, yet.
