The Rememarkables Vista / Tony Harrington
Freeriders if you are prepared to do some hiking, then after checking the snow conditions with the patrol, you can reach some major dogs bollocks terrain with big chutes and scary steeps. Turn left off the Shadow and hike 20 minutes up to the ridge to access the area known as Esclator and Elevator above Lake Alta. If you continue up along the ridge then the chutes get narrower and more extreme, so be bloody careful if you don't want this to be your last ever run. Go left off Sugar for the Toilet Bowl a freeriders heaven, which again takes you to the access road and the shuttle bus.
Freestylers will find a new Xbox Terrain Park that has tripled the size of the old terrain park, and includes a 150m superpipe. Riders will find plenty of cliff and rock drops to get air from, especially in areas around Sugar and Alta. There are also plenty of cat-tracks to drop off.
Carvers will find a number of runs to laying out big super G turns on but in truth this is not a groomed piste lovers home.
Beginners have two superb learner areas with fixed grip tows and an excellent snowboard school that will soon get you sorted out and cutting the mountain up in style.
