Modern resort with some good off-piste
5/10
Freeriders will be able to come here knowing it will put them to the test in many ways, with a great choice of different terrain features to choose from. They will also be able to arrive knowing that a weeks' visit here and across the Milky Way will not be enough to see all and ride out all the terrain which is laid out for you.
If you're into trees and off-piste terrain, then you will be well satisfied here.
Freestylers may find the initially offerings around Sansicario a little tame. But first impressions can be deceiving, because if you look out you will find loads of good natural spots for getting big airs. There are some cool gullies to check out and loads of hits formed by some of the uneven terrain features that make up this mountain.
The nearest terrain park is in Sestriere.
Carvers have a resort that is particularly good for their chosen style of riding. The abundance of fast and well-pisted red runs that make up Sansicario slopes are idea for laying out big turns.
Beginners are the one group that may find this place a little off-putting, as only a small percentage of the runs are rated for novices, and those runs that are grade blue for beginners are limited to a few sections at the lower areas, off the dreaded draglifts.
