Old and traditional but an okay linked area.

Freeriders would be hard pushed to ride all of the terrain on offer here during a weeks' visit. The slopes offer a good mixture of trees, off-piste powder and pisted runs.
Advanced riders may only find a few decent black runs at Claviere, however, within the Milky Way circuit, there is an abundance of expert level terrain to try out.
Freestylers
will now be pleased to hear that there is now a snowboard park and half pipe here, which has only come about in the last few seasons. However, the area boast lots of good natural freestyle terrain where air heads can go high off banks and rollers dotted all over the place.PISTES. Riders looking for long and wide open slopes will be happy to find that this place has lots of them. With the vast majority of the runs graded red or blue, carvers who like to glide around at a leisurely pace will love both Claviere and the rest of the Milky Way. Note, there are a lot of flat spots and some traversing is necessary between runs, so expect some thigh-burning moments.
Beginners will have no problem coping with this place. Blue runs stretch from the summit to the base areas, allowing for some fine easy riding. But with seven draglifts to contend with, getting around can be a bit tricky for draglift virgins.
