Big linked area in Fassa Valley.
8/10
Freeriders are in for a bit of a treat here, simply by the very fact that there is so much terrain to explore. If you can't have a good time here you should think about becoming a monk.
The area is riddled with interesting terrain, from chutes to trees to powder stashes. However, one major disappointment is the lack of challenging steeps for expert riders to perform on.
Freesylers should be able to enjoy this place as much as any other style of rider. There a lots of big drop-offs and plenty of natural hits for gaining maximum air.
The resorts also builds a halfpipe, but it's not very well maintained nor is there a decent terrain park to play in.
Riders have acres and acres of well-groomed tracks to speed down with some sizeable runs that allow for carving from the top to the bottom.
The longest run in the area is over six and a half miles long (11km) which will get the thighs pumping.
Beginners can't fail here. The place has lots of good nursery slopes and plenty of easy to negotiate intermediate runs to try once you have mastered the basics.
Note though, that Canazei may only have a few drag ifts, but the Dolomiti Superski area has over a 130!
