Andalo

Andalo lies at the base of the Brenta Dolomite mountain range just north of the city of Verona, and being only an hour and a half away,is also the gateway city for air transfer . The towns of Andalo, Fai della Paganella and Molveno, form the Paganella Ski Area with over 60 kilometres of marked runs.

It may not have the greatest annual snow record yet the coverage allows for some fine off-piste riding which includes lots of tight tree runs. Should the real snow not fall, then the resort boasts at least 90% snowmaking coverage on its pistes.

The fact that this place is not the most famous resort may be its saving grace, because while some of the bigger and more popular destinations attract hordes of piste-lovers, Andalo is left relatively crowd-free and unspoilt. The resort's history dates back many years, however this place is not an old fashioned out-dated dump. On the contrary, the resort's management are constantly spending large sums of money on keeping the mountain facilities up to date.

In general, the resort is split between being good for novices and intermediate riders. Advanced riders are not blessed with too many steep sections, but that said, there are a number of hair-raising descents to test even the best.

All the slopes are easily reached from the village via the main gondola. Once up on the slopes you will be able to get around with ease, and for those who hate draglifts, you’ll find most of the runs are reached by chairlifts - with a chair possible to the top section at 2125m.
