Risoul is a small village where the inhabitants still treat you as a guest and everything is within easy walking distance. The resort caters mainly for the French, and unlike a lot of French resorts, English isnt widely spoken.
In Risoul there’s a good variety of places to eat. Snack Attack do good takeaways and it’s a similar same story in Vars, but they have a lot more on the takeaway front.
The majority of the accommodation in Risoul is self-catered apartments as there are only a few hotels. The Saturday changeover day can be a nightmare, with huge queues of people trying to pick up their keys and just as many gridlocked in their cars as they try to get out of the oneway system.
In Vars, theres none of these issues, as there's plenty of hotels and chalets.
Nightlife doesnt kick off till after 10pm. Theres enough good places to get wasted in, and of course, they each have a Grotte du Yetti bar.
