Supersized resort that draws a lot of people to its slopes. It has some excellent off-piste freeriding opportunities.

Off the slopes, the main town, 1860 is built on a slope and is pretty cheesy and very tacky but provides great all-round affordable local services close to the slopes.
You can dine very affordably with cheap pizza restaurants in abundance.
If you prefer the quieter life, you can choose to stay at some of the neigbouring village which are connected via the lifts. With 32,000 beds in the area, you should always be able to find somewhere to stay.
Nightlife ranges from a cinema to loud partying which is brash and full-on, as this place does go in for a lot of après ski shenanigans.
