Introduction
Pyhätunturi is located in Lapland deep within the Arctic Circle within the two municipalities of Pelkosenniemi and Kemijärvi. Snowboarders heading to Pyhä can expect a long snow sure season running from roughly November-May. Alongside snow sure terrain you will find a variety of uncrowded pistes, untracked freeriding locations and natural hits. The excellent freeriding terrain can be accessed either directly from the main mountains or by snow shoeing into the nearby hills. Around the resort there are a number of good places for food and some nice laid back bars. If you fancy a change from riding the pistes Pyhä offers an abundance of extreme experiences such as snow mobiling. Ice climbing, fat biking, and snow surfing. Throw in the possibility of the seeing Northern Lights and you have a great little resorts that has plenty to offer riders of all levels.
