Revelstoke Corduoroy
Revelstoke is Canada’s Newest Mountain Resort opening in 2007, and has actually been rumored to be the next Whistler but for now it’s BC’s best kept secret! While most tourists venture off to Whistler for their ski holiday, Revelstoke remains crowd free and full of powder. Since 2007, RMR has offered the most vertical in North America at 1,713 meters (5,620 ft) of lift-accessed terrain, 3,121 acres of fall line skiing, 4 high alpine bowls, and 75 named runs and areas, including legendary glades and phenomenal groomers. Revelstoke has a big reputation for light powder, steep terrain and small lift lines despite there being only 6 lifts (1 gondola, 2 magic carpets and 3 chairs). Like any resort, Revelstoke is slightly busier during the holiday periods. However once you get to the peak it is very wide spread so it does not feel overly crowded .The two main chair lifts to ride are The Stoke and The Ripper. From these two chairs you can access groomers, park, glades and bowls. Skiers and snowboarders visiting Revelstoke can access a total of 515,000 acres of terrain. You could spend a full week at this mountain and still feel like there is more to discover. Most of the terrain is for intermediate and advanced riders but the mountain does offer a few beginner runs. If you are looking to really challenge yourself check out the CRITICAL PATH glades, or hit up “KILL THE BANKER'' for some steep drops and unexpected terrain. make sure to grab a kill the banker shirt on your way out as a memory of what you just accomplished
The small town of Revelstoke is 6km (10 minute car ride) from the base of the mountain and is where the majority of people stay and eat. It has a certain charm to it, with a couple of blocks serving as the town centre with a handful of restaurants, cafes, shops and hotels. The Sutton Place Hotel at the base of the mountain provides rental, retail, tickets, cafes, parking and ski lockers for those driving or getting a shuttle in. There are a few airports you can fly in from such as Kelowna, Calgary, and Abbotsford.
From Kelowna, it’s approximately a 2.5-hour drive to Revelstoke. Car rentals and shuttles are available at the Kelowna airport. Revelstoke Transfers operates an airport shuttle with door-to-door drop-off service in Revelstoke.
Calgary, Alberta is a major international airport that lies in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, four and a half hours East of Revelstoke. Calgary has daily non-stop flights from countless destinations.
Abbotsford, this is another option if you are looking to fly into a smaller airport at a smaller cost. it is almost a 6 hour drive, but if you are willing to make the drive you will be rewarded with the most beautiful sights along the way.
Resort Shuttle & Revelstoke Transit
Easily access Revelstoke Mountain Resort without the need of a personal car. The Resort Shuttle operates daily during the summer and winter months with frequent and on-time stops within Revelstoke. The shuttle can also be used to travel around town efficiently.
For both Winter and Summer, you can either purchase a season pass ahead of time or pay for a one-way fare directly on the bus. The service is $2 per one-way. the drivers to not carry change so make sure you have the exact amount.
