Great freeriding mountain with excellent challenging runs on crowed free slopes. However, the resort is let down by the lack of slope side facilities, although what is on offer in Jasper is first class.

Marmot Basin, sometimes incorrectly called Jasper which is actually the local town, is an absolute gem of a resort and highly rated by those in the know. Just driving to this place through Jasper National Park in the Rockies is a pleasure in itself with some stunning scenery en-route. Marmot is a resort that attracts snowboarders and skiers who like their slopes hassle-free and despite being a popular haunt, no one spends more than a few minutes queuing in lift lines, the lifts here can shift over 10,000 people an hour uphill. Recently Marmot, has opened up even more terrain with two new mountain faces known as the Eagle Ridge which provide a further 20 runs of steep double black diamond slopes and intermediate trails. Overall the terrain here is evenly split between all levels and styles of riding, with good backcountry areas to explore, nice bowls and trees to dip into and fast carving slopes.
