Freeriders will find that much of what is on offer here will suit them, so long as they are not looking for majorly long steeps covered in knee-deep powder. There are however, some areas where the average rider can show off on runs, such as the Devils Advocate. This is a short but fast and steep trail that winds its way down through some trees before linking up with a long intermediate run known as the Inferno. With all or most of the runs carved out of trees, there are ample opportunities to slice through the trees and grind the odd fallen log.
Carvers have a reasonable selection of trails to choose from, with some excellent wide carving to be found off the Peak Patio and Peak chairlifts. Both lifts give access to some basic runs.
Beginners may not have dozens of novice trails to choose from, but nevertheless, the easy runs are well-appointed and most first timers should have no bother negotiating the nursery areas before progressing on up to more challenging terrain. The local ski school offers a number of snowboard programmes.
