Grouse Mountain / Grouse Mountain
Grouse Mountain is the smallest resort out of the three (Cypress, Grouse, Seymour) located on the North Shore of BC’s capital, Vancouver. Along with a mountaintop multimedia theatre, Grouse Mountain has a good selection of trails that will keep the average snowboarder content for a day or two, amuse an expert rider for an afternoon and totally please a beginner for a 5 -day period.
Regular nightriding on Grouse’s flood-lit slopes is very popular with townies from Vancouver, who take to the slopes in the evenings after a day in the office. However, Grouse doesn’t attract mass crowds due largely to the poor and unreliable snow conditions. Still, when the 25 well-marked trails are covered in snow, this is a mountain that provides some good fun riding with a little for everyone. Apart from a couple of double black-diamond extreme runs, however, much of the terrain is rated intermediate and overall, is quite tame.
Grouse Mountain is best known for its truly amazing views of the North Shore and downtown Vancouver, the guide will tell you this in the cable car, along with many other ‘interesting’ facts about Vancouver.
