Freeriders have a varying selection of runs to choose from. Advanced riders may want to take the cable car up to the Berghotel where you will be able to gain access to a couple of good steep sections.
There are also a number of cool runs down the Sonnkogel which is east facing, and therefore always in the sun, and the T Bar in this area has now been replaced by the Hochmaisbahn. Black 14 is a good run where the locals race and the average time to beat is 9 minutes. Look out for wooden or snow sculptures at the side of the piste or in the trees as you board.
You can also be pulled by a skidoo up to the Pinzgauer Hütte Restaurant where there is an amazing view. There are not really any off piste possibilities here unless you hike a very long way, so if you are looking for deep powder and open bowl riding, then head on up to the glacier at Kaprun.
Beginners have lots of nursery areas as well as spots that allow for easy progression making this a good novice resorts. The Glocknerbahn is a perfect slope for beginners to learn on.
