The bars and restaurants range from traditional Austrian Hauses to more modern après ski bars. Walking around the resort you will see many picture traditional family homes which have been converted into excellent places to eat and drink. It is well worth having a night out or a nice meal in one of these. The Gasthof Bichlwirt is particularly nice and if you visit it on some evening you will get to enjoy Herbert playing his Harp.
If you are planning on leaving the gear at home then Niederau has lots of hire shops where you can get a range of boards. Salomon is a popular brand in Sport Thaler and they have reasonable prices available for a weeks hire.

If you’re looking for nice hearty meals you will find lots of restaurants, hotels and guest houses dotted around Niederau. Hearty stews, soups and dumplings are all traditional fare that will set you up for the day and prices are very reasonable on the whole. The Umbrella Bar at the gondola station provides fast food options and is a great stop for a quick afternoon lunch and beer if you’re after a break from riding this is a good place to head. From the top of the Gondola if you turn right there is also a traditional restaurant where you can get good beer and local food at a good price. On a clear day you might want to sit out and get a tan whilst looking out over the valley.
