A picture postcard Austrian village, with lots to see and do. The amount of terrain would be limiting for any longer than a week but Filzmoos provides challenges for all levels of riders.

The demanding Hochleiten piste is a steep black run for ambitious freeriders, which can be accessed by the Grossberg chairlift. It is also possible to ride through the trees on the Papageano side but this is only recommended for the experienced rider. Those looking for lots of freeriding would be better looking elsewhere.
If one thing really lets Filzmoos down it is the lack of any dedicated freestyle area. There are a few boxes, and rails in the beginners area opposite the happy Filzmoos but these are pretty standard and would not provide much of a test for experienced freestyle riders. Hopefully this is something Filzmoos will address in the future however Nearby Flachauwinkl is only a short bus ride away and provides an ideal getaway for those wanting to ride the park.
Consisting of 14 different runs over 12km Filzmoos has something to offer riders of every ability. Beginners will not be over phased with a number of low level runs consisting of t-bars and poma lifts. The four man chair lift at Grossberg provides a number of blues and reds that provide a nice challenge for intermediate riders or beginners with a few weeks under their belt.
A two man lift opens up more of the resort with a number of more challenging reds and a nice open blue that links you to the small resort of Neuberg. However inexperienced riders will likely face a wait for the bus as the only way back up to the top from here is a long fast T-Bar the same length as the descent.
Beginners are well serviced in Filzmoos with a couple of starter runs at the mountain base, these are wide and not too steep and ideal for beginners.
The beginners runs are T-Bar and Poma accessed, there are also some short travellator type runs for total beginners and children. Those with a bit more experience will enjoy the wide blue runs that can be found off of the 4 man and 2 man chair lifts.
