Not the highest resort in the world, but it's a nice place to ride, just a bit bland if you're an good intermediate boarder.

Freeriders have a small area to explore, with some interesting terrain to ride. On the upper sections, you can check out some wide, open powder fields, that eventually descend through trees en route to the base area. Advanced riders will find that the few black runs are not to be treated with arrogance. Unpisted routes from Loderstein back to the gondola station, give freeriders in soft boots a great time, as do the runs around the Wiedersbergerhorn, which often have excellent powder.
Freestylers fed up with looking for natural hits, are just going to have to keep looking or get shoveling. The halfpipe located on Gmahkopf is no longer maintained.
Boarders with a good pair of boots will love Alpbach. It's a full-on carver's resort, with wide pistes devoid of any trouble spots. Although there isn't an abundance of pisted runs, what is available is well looked after, and easily negotiated.
Beginners have a great learner's mountain. There are some perfect flats around the base areas to start out on, with excellent wide, open novice trails up in the Skiweg area.
