2018: Perisher Ski Resort Investing $4.2 Million In New Chairlift And Snowmaking - The new quad chairlift will increase lift capacity by 75% in one of Perisher's most popular areas, for the 2019 season. Additional snow-making brings investment to over $25 million in recent years and bolsters already preeminent early season experience 2013: Improved Snow Making with 27 New Techno Alpin Lances installed. The cutting of regrowth on many of the ski runs, particularly in Smiggin Holes and Blue Cow, has been carried out removing obstacles, allowing these runs to be opened with less snow cover.A small halfpipe is to be built during the winter months alongside the Yabby Flat Terrain Park to allow beginners to learn the fundamentals of halfpipe riding. 2011: PlayStation Slopestyle Park on Front Valley now floodlight. Snowmaking Expansion $5.7 million dollars has been spent this year, with new snowmaking infrastructure added to the Happy Valley area and top to bottom on the very popular Towers Run on Mt Perisher, as part of Perisher’s three-year $19 million dollar investment in snowmaking expansions and upgrades. 07 season Snowmaking and Grooming $3.6 million on the upgrade of snowmaking at Blue Cow and the installation of important water supply infrastructure to enable further snowmaking in Perisher Valley and Blue Cow in future years. State of the art automated snowmaking systems will also be trailed at Blue Cow. The grooming fleet of 19 has been modernised with the addition of a new Sherpa Winch groomer and Kassbohrer Park Bully 200 Edge 06 season: Extended snowmaking, new $400,000 groomer, improved lift access. • Train: The nearest train station is at Canberra, about 2 1/2hrs away. A funnicular, the Skitube runs from just outside Jindabyne to the resort. Head to Bullocks Flat which is 20kms or around 15 minutes drive from Jindabyne via the Alpine Way
• Driving: From Sydney, head south to Jindabyne and then take the Kosciuszko road to reach Perisher Blue (about 6hrs). Jindabyne to Perisher is 20 miles (33km).
• Flying: Snowy Mountain Airport (Cooma) 1hr from sydney, and 1hr from resort. Fly to Sydney airport with a 6 hour transfer time. There's a connecting bus route from Cooma to Jindabyne by CountryLink.
